Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Leader Bafil Talabani published a message on the occasion of Jimayî Feast, one of the most important religious festivals of the Yazidi people. 

 

In his message, Talabani said: "We will continue to protect and support the rights of the Yazidis. We are ready to provide all necessary support to improve the situation in Shengal and to ensure the dignified and safe return of the Yazidi people to their land."

 

Talabani said that they consider it a duty to support the Yazidi people and drew attention to the need to preserve the historical, cultural and social identity of Shengal. 

 

Celebrated every year on 6 October, the Jimayî Festival is celebrated by thousands of Yazidis in the sacred site of Laleş this year.
