Resistance at numerous locations in Amed against attacks in Syria

AMED – Police attacked a march planned by the Democratic Institutions Platform in Amed (Diyarbakır). In response to the obstruction and attacks, the crowd marched through Koşuyolu Park and side streets. 
 
The Democratic Institutions Platform is protesting the attacks carried out by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and paramilitary groups supported by Turkey against North and East Syria with this march. The march, attended by Co-Chairs of the Democratic Regions (DBP) Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar and Keskin Bayındır, representatives of political parties and civil society organisations, as well as numerous citizens, was blocked by police. The crowd then marched from the Human Rights Monument in Koşuyolu Park, chanting slogans. 
 
Several citizens were injured in the police’s pepper spray attack, but the march continues. 
 
Young people gathered in the city’s side streets are also continuing their march. The march continues on many streets and avenues of the city.
