Following the PKK's statement, both the European Union (EU) and Germany issued comments.
Anouar El Anouni, EU foreign affairs spokesperson emphasized Anouar El Anouni stated, “The European Union considers that launching a credible peace process, aiming for a political solution to the Kurdish issue, would be a positive step to achieve a peaceful and sustainable solution.” He also stressed that all parties in Turkey must seize this historic opportunity and highlighted that lasting peace could be achieved through dialogue.
GERMANY
Lamya Kaddor, the Interior Politics spokesperson for Germany's Green Party, pointed out that the end of the conflict would not only increase hope in Turkey but across the entire region. She emphasized that the potential end of the conflict, which has claimed the lives of 40 thousand people, presents and opportunity for Kurds in Turkey to gain more rights.
